TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Hendry Educational Fund Grant (“Grant”)
-
The Grant is administered at the sole discretion of the Phoenix Lodge #144 F. & A.M.’s Board of Trustees (“Board’) in compliance with the Hendry Educational Fund Trust.

The grant will be disbursed twice yearly to the awardee, conditional on initial and continued eligibility.

The amount of the Grant will be the same for all awardees.
-
The amount of the Grant may vary from year to year.
-
Applications not received by the stated deadlines will not be considered.

The following is a list of instructions to help applicants.

There is no implied or expressed guarantee to grant approval.
-
These instructions are subject to review and change.

Application and Initial Eligibility
-
The application for the Grant is made by a member of Phoenix Lodge #144 F. & A. M. in good standing for the benefit of himself or his wife or a dependent. A dependent is a son or daughter (adoption is of no consequence).

In case of the death of a Phoenix Lodge member in good standing, his widow or orphans may apply for the Grant. Please contact the Board of Trustees.

Applications will not be accepted unless they are typewritten or printed clearly.

The Grant is applicable to 2-year, 4-year, art, and vocational/trade institutions.

Educational Institution Accreditation
-
Colleges or universities must be accredited. Schools in CA are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Vocational and trade schools must be accredited. Vocational and trade schools are accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.

Verification and GPA
-
Students must show written verification of their status as full-time student. A full-time student is expected to carry a minimum of twelve units and a graduate student, a minimum of six units.

Incoming college, university, art, or vocational/trade school applications must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.0.

Students must maintain a 2.0 (or letter grade equivalent) grade point average in their prior quarter or semester

Continuing Eligibility
-
Grant recipients must send a copy of their most recent grade transcript to the Board of Trustees showing units completed and grades earned. The transcript should show at a minimum of a 2.0 GPA for the required number of units for the prior quarter or semester.

A student will not be eligible for subsequent grants if (s)he fails to send in a copy of their GRADE REPORT or a transcript along with an acceptable explanation.

If a grade report or transcript is not provided or not available, an explanation will be considered. Acceptance of explanation is at the Board’s discretion.

A student will not be eligible for another grant if he or she either fails to complete the required number of units or fails to maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Only members in good standing will be considered
-
Two-year, 4-year, art, trade, or technical school related to present employment.
-
Continuing education related to present employment.
-
Part-time students holding a full-time job will be considered for a grant. Special arrangements may be made for other circumstances.

Retraining due to loss of employment or physical disability.
